First of all – welcome to the new site – hope you guys like it!

It’s a new site for a new beginning as I return to the ring against Domenico Spada on Saturday night to fight for the European Middleweight title I had to vacate last year through injury.

I could’ve come back with a nice easy fight but I don’t want that and you don’t want you to see me fight nobodies – I want to get my career moving onwards and upwards, Spada is a dangerous opponent but the right man to face now.

It was so frustrating sitting out and seeing everyone else perform and doing well and not being able to do anything about it but I was always positive about my future that my body would come good again.

In an ideal world I would’ve had the operation before my last fight against Affif Belghecham where I was struggling to move to be honest – I just stood my ground at times and the fact I did this showed how much this title means to me.

It was a tough time then, moving into a new place with my girlfriend who was pregnant at the time, but you have to keep a smile on your face – life throws obstacles at you and you have to work around them.

But now life is great – I’ve got a great family behind me with my newly born daughter Scarlett and great friends. My brother is up there looking down on me and supporting me. I’ve got nothing to be bitter or angry about – it’s swings and roundabouts in life and that’s what I’m doing, and it all starts at Olympia.

It’s really exciting being back on Sky Sports, there’s nothing worse than getting home from a tough day in the gym, turning on Sky Sports and someone else is fighting and you are not involved in it. It’s heartbreaking and it drives you mad as you want to showcase your skills so when Barry and Eddie Hearn came calling, it was great timing and now we are back on the road to a World title shot, starting with Saturday at Olympia... see you all there.
