Just a few days to go now until fight-night and I can´t wait! I did my last session in the gym on Monday with a prospect called Juan Rodriguez, a very tough guy. I´ve been training at Mendez Gym in New York, a place with a massive boxing heritage and I think it´s a bit strange for the locals to have an Englishman like me in their midst!

As well as the training in the gym, I´ve been running in Central Park which is great and it´s something I did when I came over for the press conference a few months ago.

It´s very humid here in New York but we´re getting used to it. Mark, Luke, Tony, Lee and myself have enjoyed it here so far – it´s a bit like being in the movies!

I´m looking forward to seeing a few more of my mates when they fly over for the fight and I´m told the support I´ll be getting will be good so I´ll be doing my best not to let down all the people who´ve travelled over from England to watch me.

I’ve had lots of good luck messages from back home including a few from the players and staff at Chelsea which has been a real buzz!

After I gave my pal Joe Cole a mention last week, he scored a blinding goal for Lille but he´s told me that he won´t be able to watch the fight live because he´ll be asleep and preparing himself for Lille´s game on the Sunday. That said, he´s promised me he´ll be watching the fight on Sunday evening but doesn´t want me to text him to let him know how I got on… I know the result I´m expecting but how many rounds Joe will be watching is another matter.
Once the fight is over, I´ll be looking forward to getting back to London to see my partner Gem and our baby Scarlett Rose and the rest of my family and friends.

The time has flown by since I´ve been in Canada and down here in New York but when I get to Atlantic City for the fight, I know it won´t be long until I´m back in good old Blighty!

Hopefully, next time I blog I´ll still be undefeated with another title to my name but until I write to you lot again, as ever, take care!
